Reset SRS light

Car in question: 95 Civic LX Auto 1.5L

I installed some indiglo gauges and as per the Haynes manual I took apart the SRS system below the steering wheel so I didn't accidentally set it off while fooling with the wires...

what a mistake! Everything works fine except now when I turn on my car the SRS light stays on.

I've read of ways that you can reset the SRS light on newer models but what about on mine?

I really don't want to pay a dealer $50-100 to do it if it's simplistic enough. I have tried double checking all my connections and I have also tried disconnecting the battery and touching the two detached wires together in hopes to drain power stored in the control units capacitors and clear it's memory.

PLEASE HELP!!!
