rusty rotors

does anyone have a suggestion for cleaning up the beautiful rust color on my rotors etc. i was able to debride most the chunks of it off with a wire brush but it still looks crapy. does anyone else have this problem. whats the fix?

dont want to sound to stupid but do you block anything out or just remove the wheel and start spraying. if you do block out the face of the rotor, what do you use to get the blocked out area rouund or uniform? tape, some other adhesive, etc? thanks.

Well, you really do not have to tape the face of the rotor off. the first time you hit the brakes, the pads will scrape off the paint.

However, you can get a low tack painters tape from any autobody supply store. Use that to tape off the face of the rotors if you choose. Just cover the entire face of the rotor off with tape, and hang it over the edge. Then use a razor blade to trim off the excess. remember to cover your caliper, unless you want it flat black.

I am going to be redoing mine this week. I will try to remember to post a picture how it turned out. Post one of yours too!

Good luck.

Its not that important..
But I'd tape off the face of the rotor if I were you.

well, its done. i took off all the wheels, cleaned everything up with a wirebrush and sanded it down. then i used high heat flat black rustoleum to finish it off. looks ok. alot better than before. maybe next time ill have the patience to take apart the calipers and paint them some color in an enamel. oh, i did paint everything including the face of the rotor, after a mile of stop and go all the paint is gone on the rotor face. didnt squeak a bit. thanks for all your help fellas.

if you guys get a chance i have posted some questions and a pic about lowering my accord in the suspension forum. havent got alot of responses yet and i would really appreciate the input.
