Rear View Mirror
A friend of mine has a 2000 Honda Accord... yesterday was really hot, and the rear view mirror decided to fall off. Kinda funny, but...how do I seperate the mirror from that mounting plate that glues onto the windshield? I've got some rear view adhesive type 11...and think it would be easier if I was not trying to glue the whole mirror unit up, but rather just the little mounting plate. It looks like just a groove and it slides off, but it will not budge. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Thanks for the very helpful response. Actually I was able to fix the problem myself. As for a dealer, they'd charge me double what the job would cost, and would offer no DIY advice. I've been on other forums as I am not a Honda owner, and found them a lot more helpful than this site. Actually, I'm glad that I am not a Honda owner.
Rice is good? Hah! I've seen more two toned body kit Civics with nothing under the hood, than I care to remember. You guys make me want to vomit. Only thing worse, by a little, are those momma's boys-just-turned-16 riding in "riced" out Ford Focus wagons. I'm done. |

Honda have this problem. My rearview mirror fell off several times. I ended up buying a new one with Velcro.

And then also buy a baby rearview mirror. A very good and necessary accessory.
