sport shifters- need help and info

Hey all i was thinking of getting a short shifter/sport shifter for my civic.
is there any particular brand that i should take a look at or is anything good?

i would also like to know if there is anyplace in particular i should shop for one..

I got in my last civic a Generic one and it worked really good!

I got my DC Sport one off Ebay with new bushings for like $40

how hard was the installation? did you have to go under the car to installa it or did you get it "professionally" installed? if so, how much was it?

i've seen them do it on HP tv...it's pretty easy.

it's pretty much remove your whole center counsle around the shifter and there are about 4 bolts and then everything else just hooks up normally

I was thinking about changing it on my car....does it make any difference. Is it easier to drive...faster?
I just wanna know if it's worth it.

I just installed one on my lil brothers 97 civic ex. I got him a generic one off of ebay and it works great. The install was pretty simple. Juts a bolt on the tranny and a couple bolts wherethe stick is and then you just manuever it out of the way. You also need to move the exhaust out of the way just take it off of the hanger. Its a lot more fun to drive and you can notive a big diff with it on. I would think youd be a lil faster since it takes less time to shift.

Cool. And does it matter from company to company...or is any short shifter good. I meant there is a price difference between some so I was just wondering.

anybody ever purchased/installed/used one of those "shifter adapter"...i think neuspeed and obx makes em..just wonderin' if anybody have positive/negative feedback about 'em
