if i wanted to pay double for the same speed i'd buy a Diablo.
the latest P4's are always $450-500 just for the chip. (and fan i believe) the latest AthlonXP's are always $200-300 for the same speed chip (or faster actually) 2-22-02 on Pricewatch.com (lowest prices on the web, period.) Athlon XP 2000+ $244.00 Pentium 4 2.2Ghz $468.00 basically these chips are identical in speed. though the p4 is almost exactly double in price. |

Overe here the an P4 equivalent of an Athlon is around 150$ CAD more.. They run cooler. And for peeps who dont know much about computers.. A Pentium is and safe/sure way.
Besides, for heavy gaming, the Pentiums practically always edge out Athlon.

true. but is a few degrees worth 200 bucks? you can almost buy a complete Gateway computer for what the 2.2 P4 costs. when you look at the performance numbers they are usually only different by 1-5% and at most 10%. your not going to notice any difference either way in real life. |

oh great another pentium/amd war.
I wanted a reialable chip (something thats not gonna burn up or get exsessivly(sp) hot. It would be used for video editing, and small gaming (cs) I can't wait to see what AMD owners say when intel releases that new chip itanium. |

and likewise when AMD releases their Hammer.
end of debate. i get in enough "disagreements" about this anyways. they are identical, just not in price. simple as that. |

pentium = more reliable.
AMD is good for one thing and one thing only gaming intel is great for video editing, thus the reason i got it |

i'd take the two lexus', sell one and spend the 30+g's on modding the other one which would then tear your altezza a new one.

if you were in a market where people blindly bought the other companies wares even though you had an excellent product... wouldnt you try anything to get some of that market share?
(blindly is not meant for you, but more the general public) |
