Apexi V-AFC... purpose?
Hey guys,
I saw a deal on the Apexi V-AFC. I know some people have it and they say wonders about it. I just have a few questions fopr ya before I decide to get it: 1) What does it exactly do? 2) How hard is it to tune for the most out of your engine? 3) How much will it help a stock engine? 4) Will it void out my Honda Warranty if I install it (reason why engine is stock)? Thanks guys! |

1. Adjust the VTEC crossover point. Also fuel/air mangement
2. Very. You need to have it dyno tuned by someone who has done it before to get the full use out of it. 3. Not much if any. 4. More than likely.

so what would I need to do in order to get a benefit from it? Also, how would it void out my warranty if nothing is changed physically to the car?

Start modding... and don't stop. You'd need all of the airflow mods (I/H/E), then maybe fuel/ignition, cams... It will then allow you to tune the A/F ratio, etc. to benefit from those mods. It won't hurt to get it sooner, but keep in mind you'll need to dyno tune it when you get mods, which can be very expensive.
