911 turbo dies
Well this is kind of a good story. I was riding down the 5 just minding my own buisness. Granted I was doing about 120 at the time. Anyway, this black 911 Turbo pulls up on me. He wanted to play a little. I felt a little frisky. I know what you are thinking. There is no way an R6 can keep up with a 911 turbo. Well my intentions were to try. I kept up with him for about 5 miles at more than 160. Then traffic started to get pretty thick. We both backed off and were just cruising through traffic when the freeway became a parking lot. At this point I realized, "no matter how much you spend on a car or a truck, no matter how fast or big it is, you still can't lane split."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

What's even worse is when a car kills a bike. |

Yeah, a kill is a kill...but lane splitting ain't cool.
If the race is straight heads-up, great. But weaving through traffic and "lane-splitting" is unsafe and without regard for other people. Ah well. Who listens? |

if i'd ever get a bike, i'd get one that'd kill most other bikes, and most cars... the hayabusa. 0-60 in 2.8 seconds.

Lane splitting is legal here in Cali. I wasn't being stupid about it either. I was doing 15 while everyone else was stopped. We weren't weaving through traffic either. It was pretty wide open when we started and we slowed down once it got more conjested. So, before you get started calling me a hazard, and telling me I am "unsafe without reguard for other people," get your facts straight.

Most of the time you are right. I will kill the thing off the line every time. In this case we were going from a roll. I only have 600 cc's. The 911 is actually alot faster than my R6 top end. In the twisties however, its over before it starts. In a straight line, balls to the wall speed race, its pretty close. If I still had my R1, it would have been a different story though.

I beat him in the 1/8, 1/4, and anything that involves turns. He beats me in top speed though.
