i used to have a dobberman pincher/rottwieler, it was the friendliest dog but would kick anythings ass for me at the same time. I loved that dog but we had to give it away when we moved into town. My dog we have right now is little and we've had it since i was about 4 years old. It's very old and VERY VERY deaf. Pets are always missed. Best of luck to you anna babe!!

Two years ago, I had to put down my wolf hybrid due to old age. She was like my 4 legged daughter, we were that close. I still miss her to this day. I now have two dogs I adopted from rescue groups earlier this year, a Boxer/Lab (my wild child) and a Rott/Husky (the "boyfriend" because he's so sweet). They don't take her place though and never will. It will be hard but give yourself some time and when you're ready, you'll know. I'll probably get another wolf hybrid in later years. It's still just too hard for me to do that right now.

aww Anna I'm sorry...I've never had to put any of my dogs down that I can remember, but when I was younger and my family was going to be moving back to Hawaii from Maryland, we had to give our dog away. He was a kick ass lil pomeranian (his name was keoki-which means George in Hawaiian). So now I don't have a dog cuz my mom and I are allergic to them, so I pretend that my sister's dog and Erin's puppy are my dogs. My sis has a mini pin and Erin has a daschund.

If you do, be VERY aware of the percentage and generation of that animal. Wolves are VERY intelligent and need to be watched and treated like children because they can get into a lot of trouble, ie opening locked doors, stealing your food, digging holes in your yard to den in, jumping your fence, killing the neighborhood cats and small dogs, intimidating you with their behavior, etc. They WILL run your house if you don't know how to handle them. Please do your research before you buy a hybrid. They are beautiful animals that are NOT to be taken lightly. I LOVE wolves and have researched about them for years before I owned one. The wolf is my spirit animal and I respect them entirely. I also volunteer at a Wolf Research and Hybrid Rescue facility near my home. Those poor souls (wolves) there were abused at the hands of inexperienced and ignorant hybrid owners. Even though they know they will no longer be abused and will be cared for with love and concern at the facilty, it still takes years before they will trust ANYONE again for anything. It really makes me angry that they have had to suffer like that. I think it's really great that you're interested, but PLEASE research, research and research before you buy.

EDIT: I can PM you with the site if you're interested.

It's ok at this time I'm not in the position to buy a new set of rota slips let alone buying a wolf. lol I don't even know where to find one at to be honest haha, plus i'm starting college in the fall etc so it won't be for some years if ever but I still think they're the all around pimps of the animal world.. thanks for the info and best of luck with the shelter that sounds like a lot of fun..

Why didn't the vet send your dog to that farm that all dogs go to, where they can run and play with other dogs...That's where my dog PICO is.

I now have an English Bulldog named Xena...I'm never letting the vet send her off...i love her so much..

oh god i am so sorry to hear about your dog. i had to have mine put down last year due to a vet mistake and old age. i just recently got an australian cattle dog puppy. we looked for 3 years for this guy and wow is he awesome! (cattle dog is like a dingo) so that brings my doggy total up to 2 australian cattle dogs, a pitt bull, and a beagle. my pitt was severealy abused, at teh age of 6 weeks he ingested enough alcohol and drugs to kill an adult human let alone a pup. my beagle and other cattle dog were rescues also.

of course you are taking it hard. its a hard thing to have to deal with!

actually the pitt has some issues but he is a wonderfully smart and responsive dog. he can get you a drink (you specify juice pop or water) he can also get a covered dish from teh fridge open teh microwave and place teh dish in it. we are working on shutting the door now. he may be highly intelligent but he also has soem major delays due to teh drugs. the main one being....HE CAN NOT BE POTTY TRAINED! we have accepted this and he wears diapers. after 2 years of teaching we said we give up. so at age 5 he wears diapers.

He's probably a Husky or Malamute mix. What is the length of his tail? Is it straight or have a curl to it? What color are his eyes? Check his teeth and see if they are peaked like your other two dogs, if not and they look almost serated in a way, he might have some wolf in him but I'd have to see him to be sure. I might be able to tell from some pictures. Got any of him you can post?

It sounds like he might be a husky or mal. Does his tail curl all the time or just when he's happy?

More than likely Mal if not a Mal mix. I'd still have to see a pic to be sure.

but the reason i dont think he is a mal is cuz, he isnt colored like one.. he is brown and white, and gray, and black.. oo and he has a blaze too...he just resembles a wolf.. and other ppl have said this.. but we have NO idea what he is.. he was running around and i took him home.. we put up lost dog sings and stuff, but nobody claimed him...... so we took him in.. but i will get my broz camra and take a few pics..
