Had to sell my civic si...
Sold my 05 Si. I bought it brand new so the car payment was high. Cant afford it anymore, due to other bills, and school. I picked up a 1992 Honda Accord LX for free from my step brother, the transmission is shot. I was able to get a remanufactured one with a warranty for $1080 and a family friend ( retired honda mechanic) will put it in for 300. I have been researching alot on my k - series engine but I have no idea what ive got in this accord except I know its a 2.2 sohc? (dont know the engine code)
I think its got like 125hp and 138 torque? not sure. Its the LX. I thought about the h22 swap but dont want to put that much effort into this ride. How does the accord motor respond to the bolt ons? |

$1080 plus $300 install?! Holy fuk! I can get an ITR tranny (stock LSD) with that price. But hey, if you need it then you should go for it.
Wh not install it yourself? It really is easy. It is time consuming but overall an easy task. Is this auto or manual? If it's manual then you might as well replace the clutch too..... Goodluck man. |

holy fuck dude, think you got a little waxed over that tranny. 300 install, sure (although i'd find some friends and attempt it myself), but i've seen d series trannys for like 3 beans, can't imagine an accord being more. But hey warranty, and piece of mind i guess...
Sorry to hear about sellin the civic, that must suck

If its an auto, its easy to imagine that much for a rebuilt w/ warranty.

I get to do a tranny swap later this week. I just need someone to carry it for me!
Sorry to hear about the lost of a car..I'm pretty much on the same boat as you. If you need to cry, I'll cry with you! As for your new car..it's a huge difference from the Ep so do you really want to invest all this money into it? You plan on keeping this car for awhile? You can always replace the tranny, clean it up a tad and sell it. You'll probably make money on it and then turn around and buy yourself something along the lines of the Ep, like am eg or somethin'. ? Just questioning you because I've seen lots of people dump lots of money into cars to find that they got bored with it 6 months later. Good luck!

It is an automatic by the way, thats why its so pricey, here in slc, utah, the price locally was like 2100 - 2700 unless bought at a junkyard.... Im going to have this accord for about a year unless I decide to drop money in it. I thought I would dump like 500 in it, h/i/e, thats all. Maybe some used rims or something...
I am thinking like a 1998 or a honda civic coupe with a K20a swap....Ive heard good things about that. Kinda pricey....probally end up with the a2 |
