engine must be same year or newer than the chassis
crv engines are concidered "light-truck" and some states concider it illegal to put that in a car |

A lot of it depends on where you live. Here, anything's fair game. Then again in some states the motor has to have been available in the car from the factory for it to pass inspection. State laws are fucked up like that.

Very true.
The best thing to do is just head up to your cop shop and ask them for literature on what is/is not legal for vehicles. Not only will it have what you want, but it can be handy if a cop gets on your back about something...just be sure to quote the laws right |
