How much $$$... in 2005

As I sit here and close out 2005, I got to thinking how much money I spent in 2005 for my cars: Civic and Teg. As much as I didnt want to think about mine, I had to since I'm trying to figure why I didnt buy a house last year.

This is my tally and some numbers are just ballpark numbers:

-$1500 Teg paint
-$1400 GT35r turbo and misc
-$1200 B20b swap for the civic
-$1250 Volks TE37 with tires
-$700 Turbo Manifold
-$720 AEM EMS
-$400 Tranny work ans synchros
-$300 upgraded brakes
-$100 wheel bearings
-$100 new axles
-$200 ITR rear seats
-$300 Sparco Torino seat/sliders
-$300 Welder
-$280 MSD Digital 6plus
-$100 hydraulic press
-$500 misc parts/tools/gadgets/lubricant/blah blah

About $8630. I know that I could've used that to buy a house or payoff some debts. I am happy about what I came up with although I also realize that I really need to grow up and get my priorities realigned......

It's your turn. So much money did you guys/gals spent for mods on your ride(s) in 2005? Include tools and labor but do NOT include the amount you pay for the car, if you bought the car in 2005. You can however add what you paid for on scheduled maintenance such as oil change, tire rotation, etc....

yeah, that is one of the only thing that makes me feel better about this. I did get a lot of stuff with great deals. The EMS, TE37, and paint job were all great deals.......

...and yeah.... I've exceeded the blue book value of my Teg over twice already............... and I'm still paying for the Teg

This year's predicted tally:

-$850 Quaife LSD or $1200 ITR tranny
-$1000 Stage5 titanium axle or $800 Driveshaft Shop Stage5/hub
-$1250 Exedy Twin disc clutch
-$300+ traction bar, unless I build my own
-$500 full interior swap to black, unless I just paint mine
-$250-400 on a decent steering wheel. I want an S2k conversion
-$700 for chromolly roll cage or $400 mild steel
-$250 for a used Lenso with tires $350
-$100 for another inpection sticker...lol!

...about $5200. The only way that I can afford this is to do side jobs. I'm planning on getting back on my old habits of installing turbos and fabbing up piping for custom turbo set-ups. This time I will charge vice just helping out people.....

If I spent money on my Slownoma, it'd be a money pit. I drive it like I hate it (because I do) and it hates me right back. Electrical gremlins and power steering problems aside (which I've fixed myself) I've only spent money on gas and oil changes on the heap. It's not worth modding (that's right GM...fuck you). The Mustang lies dormant waiting for a new turbo.
