Rotors
How much would it cost to fix the rotors cuz I think mines are warping. I know its diff in some areas but what would be the "about right" price.

you could go with a cheap rortor from the local autoparts store for about 17 or get a 65-85 one from autozone and have it done right. i made the mistake of putting cheap rotors on mine and they are warped in less than 2 months

You mean get a new rotor? I dont want a new rotor, I just want to make it "unwarped". I was thinking of the labor price.

If your rotors are actually warped, just buy new ones.

I know its warped because it has heat coming off of it and the steering wheel shakes when braking. But Im wondering, it doesnt shake all the time, I say 30% of the time, wheel shakes when braking. And I had these rotors changed like...2-3 months ago. Why is the rotor warping? Is it my driving habit or something.

Oh Yea, Since I had the rotors changed like 2-3 months ago and the wheel only shakes sometimes when braking, I think I can resurface it cant i?? I mean I just noticed this like 1-2 weeks ago. And If i do HAVE to get a new rotor(again), do I have to get 2 rotors?
As for my driving habit, I live in hawaii and I have to brake pretty hard everyday because I drive to school on this very steep hill. |

usually they warp because they get too hot: hard braking, caliper getting stuck (piston binding, pins binding, non working rear brakes), using metalic or semi-metalic pads, did not allow for the rotor and braking pads to break in ( gotta take it easy for the first 500 miles).
no if the rotor is warped it can't be turned or reground.

i have no clue about the AEM pads. are they metalic ? sometimes on the rotor instructions it says to be used only with metalic pads, or do not use with metalic pads. if it does not say anything on the instructions better not use them with metalic pads or the rotors will be garabage as soon as you take off.
