Euro Tails/lowering
Does anyone know where I could find these tails
I LOVE EM! ALso, Whats the best drop and rim size for performance/looks I was thinking 16/40/215 with hr sport which is about an 1.3 inch drop Or 17/40/215 with hr comps which is a bout a 2.2 inch drop What do you think? pics appreciated |

I would stick with a 205 width on the tires, especially if you are going with 17s. I am running a 2.5 inch drop right now with 205/40/17s and it's barely clearing the inner fender lining. The tail lights look like smoked altezzas, you should be able to find them online at any place that sells altezza lights.

If memory serves, those are the carbon fiber first generation altezza lights. Like delsolvtec said, you should be able to find them online.

215s are possible on 16" rims and under, but once you step up to 17s 215s are pushing it. Also a 1.3" drop on a sol isn't that noticeable. I have coilovers and have played with all different ride heights. I found that you have to go with at least 1.9" to change the look of the car to a noticeable point.

hm... Thanks for the info on the tails...
I think I'm going to get 16/40/215 You really think a two inch drop is alright? THe hr comps do that. What about handling? It wont be too low right? I do not like the "tucked" look |

It's preparing for liftoff, please stand back. You should be alright with 215/40/16s, but I would still recommend a 205 tire. Unless you are putting 300+ horsepower to the pavement 205s will work perfectly for a del sol. Trust me, mine handles like it's on rails and I'm running 205/40/17.

hmmmm
Dont let anyone tell you that you "cant" !!!
I have 205/40 ZR 18s, on 18x7 1/2" Enkei RP0-5 rims, on my 93 DelSol. I have Matrix Coilovers, and they are turned down as far as they will go. I was first told you could not do 18s, then I was told your could not lower it on 18s, I had to prove them all wrong. It can be done. It all depends on the Off set of the rims, and the camber. |

He wasn't asking about 18s and 205 tires. He was asking about 17s with 215s. Anything can be done with the right ammount of planning and cash, but there is no advantage to running 18s on a del sol aside from the bling factor. Remember that the bigger the wheel the taller the gear ratio the slower the accelleration.
