An import question from the domestic guy

Ok...I can't help but notice that a few of you guys have listed in your sigs that you have CAIs with blow off valves. This confuses the hell out of me. Is there something different about import motors that causes a huge pressure surge in the intake pipe that requires the pressure to be bled off?

i think you are reffering to bypass valves. when you have a cold air intake the filter sits in the the front fender very close to the road, and running thru puddles might submerge the entire filter in water.... the bypass valve opens up when the whole filter is submerge in water so you won't suck the water in the engine.

it is also possibly that he may be refering to those things you stick in your intake that imitate the sound of a Turbo, more or less it's a whistle. and if this is the case I want everyone's name who has one and address so I can go bash in there head then remove that damn thing from their car

you can't get more ricer than that

I think a lot of people just confuse them and put BOV instead of BPV.
