under warranty
Hey, I just bought a 2002 Civic EX last week and it is still under factory warranty. I was wondering what mods I can do that will not void out the warranty. I do not know much about civics at all so please bare with me. thanks a lot.

Yeah, but basically, if you mod your suspension, you void your suspension warranty. If you add an intake, they could be idiots about it and not honor your engine warranty. Save those parts

there was a thread similar to this on a subaru forum I remember reading.
basically the guy upped the damn turbo to like 28psi...or some other ungodly number for totally stock internals and blew the whole thing. He put everything stock back on and took it back in for warranty service. Problem was, he posted that he was doing this and someone ratted him out...basically every sub. dealer in the counry heard about it and his vin is noted. I think oc will remember that post too...maybe we talked about it here...at least I think he said something about it...whatever in any case, if you break it, do not go around telling people that you did that...or the same thing will happen to you. But I dont think youre dumb enough to do something as extreme as 2xpsi but yeah...keep that stuff and put it back on if you break somethin |

from what I have understood in reguards to warrantiesd and mods are that the only way a particular mod would void the warranty is if the "cause/root" of the problem stems directly from that modification that you did.
this is info that AEM put out abou there intakes and warranties: http://www.aempower.com/faq.asp?fid=23&sid=4&tid= Also further info from Enjoy the drive Powered by SEMA: http://www.enjoythedrive.com/content/?id=8250 |

minor mods should not void your warranty, but the big ones as a turbo will void it.

Excatly. They'll blame ANYTHING on a mod you did so they don't have to honor the warranty.
