Finally got my Pioneer 8400

for 350 i don't think it was a bad deal, i decided to NOT buy subs and just save up for a turbo next year (2002 civic ex). I'm gonna go away for the weekend but i'll get it installed plus 4 3-way pioneer 6 1/2's and dynamat the door and back panels... Hopefully it will sound good.

Umm since no subs, anybody want a Rockford 700 watt amp (retail $500) for $400 or so? lemme know

wait... no subs, but your putting in dynamat?? I mean you'll have better sound-proofing.. but I doubt its worth the extra weight..

Plus, since you wont have subs, you really should put 6 * 9s, in the rear.. otherwise the lower frequencies really wont come out!

Its not like i'm lining my car in dynamat, just where the speakers will be.. also, even the stock speakers rattle the door panels in a civic... and the rear deck doesn't hold 6*9 speakers or else i'd get them

yup thats my baby... i WOULD get subs, but to get a decent system it'd be alot of money, especially since if anyhting rattles at all i'll just get really mad and then not turn my music up (defeating the purpose of the subs)... thats probably my main concern... of course now i have a $500 amp that i don't need.. uhh any buyers?

and for another $200, i can put a 6.5" screen and PS2 in my car, i'll probably do that and bypass the sub route

well if your 6.5s are rattling something, then its caus they arent properly installed.. Trust on this one.. But if your putting dynamat to keep outside noise from coming in, then its fine..

And for the rears, you could easily cut out a 6 * 9 hole.. most of the time when you buy a speaker they include a template, just in case you'Re gonna do the cutting.. so you place your template on or under the deck.. and cut away!

PLus. both sizes are pretty much the same price..
