Street Glows
Hey guys..
I was thinking about buying some Red Gold Line Street Glows for my 02 Accord, and was wondering where i should mount them, I looked under the car and it is mostly flat so there isnt really a place for the lights to be protected... i guess this wont be a prob when i drop it for the back and sides but in the front the lights would hit the ground when going over a bump... ne suggestions?? ne kit i can buy? 02coupev6 |

I have the Liteglow pro series. It's pretty bright. I mounted the front bulb inside the front bumper on my 2000 gsr (I removed the mud flap and put it inside there, secured it, and replaced the flap). Don't know if that helps you.

jfyi, all neon colors are illegal in california while the car is in motion, regardless if u can see the tube or not. If the car is parked, then it's perfectly legal.

In Connecticut and in most states any light, exterior or interior, is illegal when the car is in motion. I believe the wording of the law is something to the extent of "anything that will distract a driver". But I think it does depend a lot on the local cops...

Also, this might work:
If you get pulled over, just say "Oh I'm sorry officer, I'm coming back from a car event where I had it on while my car was parked at the show. I guess I forgot to turn them off. Won't happen again." |

The problem with a lot of neons I see is these kids go around showing the bulbs. WRONG WRONG WRONG. The best way to have your car glow is to hide them very, very well so all you see is the glow UNDER the car, not on the sides. Why doesn't anyone know this??

It is all a matter of circumstance. you can get away with anything and get introuble for anything.... comming to mississippi from california i see how people here get away with the undercar lights. i think that as long as the bulbs are hidden and you are not doing anything else wrong the cops will be ok with it but expect an extra fine if you are being stupid and get pulled over

its tough to hide those things under the car with out seeing some of the tube....most cars have a flat part nearer to the edge(outer) of it rather then closer inward..lol..if u know what i mean....but whatever works....i want some bright so u can see em good on the ground not just this light coming from underneath and not even bright at all on the ground...

As far as I know neons are not illegal in NE but it might just be that our local cops are f****** idiots and don't know their own laws

i have lite glo pro series on my bmw in blue, and the same setup in green on our Civic.
great kit....excellent lighting. when we first installed them the lights were sticking out...we immediatly fixed that. looks so much better when they are hidden. it was a lot easier to hide mine than his because i have side skirts. mine got tucked behind my sideskirts. |

I was thinking about getting some neons, but I'm not really sure... everybody has blue, red, green..... I'm not sure what color I want to go with.. I was thinking about white since my car IS white, but I'm not sure that'll look good at all :\

in CA:
it is ESPECIALLY illegal to have red or blue neon glow under car lights while in motion. the reason being, medical aide or law enforcement cars emit the same type of lighting in an emergency. it is still illegal to drive, with any glow underglow lights, but you might get hassled less about it as long as it isnt blue or red. it is LEGAL to have any color street glow as long as the car is parked. just emphasizing the law a bit. and i reccomend hooking up a toggle switch to it and mounting it on your dash somewhere. that way if you decide to be stupid, when you see a cop, if he doesent see you first, you can flip the lights off. |

I guess if i choose to get the white ones, I'll have to find some way to mount 8 tubes underneath the body (2 pairs of each)

why 8 tubes? isnt that a little on the "bright" side. anyways, TeriyakiBroccoli you may think my neons are weak on my car, but that is what you did want to get i believe right?? also on a picture the lights are always dimmer than standing there looking at it. juts fyi

if there's condensation then that means there's air getting inside the tubes somehow.
check the connections and look for cracks. |
