ideal date
How would your ideal first date go.. i'm interested in hearing both male and female points of view as this has been a hot topic with my friends lately.... so lets here it. Remembe weather is not always nice so lets keep that out of it.

on a first date i prefer to do something active, liek pool, bowling, ice skating or rollerblading. anything active, it puts less pressure on both sides to carry on a conversation, if that goes well then i would then say hey i am hungry lets go grab some food. and if we are still really hitting it off at that point then i would say lets stop at the video rental place ther eis this movie i am wanting to see. as you can see i am the one in control i never ever leave my car on a first date! my cousin pissed someone off so bad she was left miles from home and she had to call daddy for a ride!

Hmm? I don't think I know the answer to that question. I'm sure I could give you the complete opposite of the ideal first date.

Somethin' random & fun, not to serious. Take me some place I have never been, stuff maybe you like and teach me about it..I like to learn about people.
I don't like dates where you are just sittin there starin at each other all thinking of things to say. Um, the guy I'm with now took me to a childrens science museum (sp?) and we got to do all these fun experiments and stuff. It made me laugh a lot & that helps me open up, so yeah. I'm a big dork |

That sounds like fun! Here in Tulsa, there isn't that to do though. It sux. I'd have to say around here, a car show is great, then cruising and hangin out with friends.

Though I never went to it, you spoke of some falls out there. Wouldn't that make for a good date? I'd say you have a fair bit to do out there, seems like OKC is where its happening though. Guess you could start a date with a bit of a drive.... thanks for the input, was useful... |

ya but I hardly think a 4 hour road trip is a good start for a date unless you just want to see the falls that badly.
It could be good or bad cuz you'd have a terrible silence to fill, but if you're a conversationalist, that wouldn't be hard. But you wouldn't know the person all that well if this was a first date. |

true, i will agree with the driving being a bit much. Guess it really depends on the two people. |

Well Rob...you already asked my opinion of this question, and since I haven't been on here in FOOOORRRREEEVVVEEERRR I didn't know you had this thread. But I'll share my infinite wisdom with everyone else since I stumbled across this now....I have a lot of ideas for "good" first dates....
*baseball game (major, minor, farm team...whatever) and then maybe hittin up a pub afterwards for a drink or 2 *maikioshi took this idea....but hands on science museums would be awesome first dates. Where else do you get to run around and play with stuff you normally wouldn't be allowed to play with, learn things, and act like a lil kid??? *amusement park...yet again the running around like lil kids thing. *comedy show *free show in the park (like some of the parks around my area will have jazz bands, shakespeare in the park, etc) *go-cart racing (for those first dates that have a competitive personality) *if it's fall, a corn maze would be cool Basically before the first date you're gonna find out some information about the person you're goin out with. You gotta figure out something from the conversations you've had with that person, what would fit their personality the best. If they play sports...take them to a sporting event....you can tell a lot about the person if you truely listen to them. You want to make a positive impression on the person and you're ultimate goal is for the 2 of you to have a good time and progress on to a second (and more) date and to make the date one that they won't forget. You'd think for me having all these ideas that I would have had a lot of dates....no I never even seriously had a real date. I've had bfs...but no real dates. But I sure can give friends good ideas for first dates.

Man, I've been on some dates before that have been really good.. then there are those that are really bad... Fortunately, the last date I went on was in Rocky Point, Mexico just this weekend. It was so cool. Me and this chick went for a walk on the beach at night and had some drinks... I made her laugh the whole time, she said no one has made her laugh that much before. But that's really the key right there. If you're like me, your looks are so-so, nothing big... so you need personality to get things going. Most girls I meet tell me that I look like I'd listen to rap and be stuck on myself.. then they find out that I listen to country and I like to joke around a lot. Yah... it's true, I listen to country ... so just be yourself man. I feel it's better to show a girl your true self in the beginning than to wait until she finds out later and you find out the two of you don't have common interests.
