another day, another creature in my back yard
so i'm sitting inside on the couch with the patio door open so our cat can come in if it wants and i hear this weird noise. at first i thought it was those cicada bug things, but i go out and check anyway and there i see my damn cat w/ in a few feet of the snake thats rattlin' away. so i yelled at the damn cat and threw what i had in my hand at the snake(a wadded up paper towel) which made the cat jump back and run inside. then i started taking pics.
I thought about putting my new shotgun to good use, but I still felt bad about the tarantula slaying so i called a snake catcher. pay no attention to my crappy back yard, its still how the previous owners left it, i keep saying i'm gonna get it landscaped...someday. Haha...man...you've got some shitty luck with weird creatures, Rob. The spider wouldn't have bothered me, but a rattlesnake is a whole other story. I like snakes...just not the poisonous ones. Props for getting that close while it was in striking position, though.

Nice pictures.. I would have blown it, and the plants to pieces with the shotgun..
Way to go with the self restraint. You have some great pets.

"My Big Backyard, with Rob" This week's adventure: Venemous Animals!
I saw a ground hog in my backyard yesterday... Man, rocks in the backyard is totally the In thing to do right now... I just moved 2tons of rock earlier in the summer from a backyard that looked just like that, but smaller. |

Oh yeah.. We have lots of those in this area. A guy I worked with almost got "skunked" here at work when he went out on the back deck for a smoke one evening. He said it started getting dark and he was walking back to the door when he saw the white stripe. He decided to head for the front do instead.
