That huge puff of smoke at startup tells me that British smog laws must be way more lenient than places in the US. No way would that ever pass CARB specs. But damn...turning a shitty little Vauxhal into a 2200hp beast is just...damn.

Someday, in the event that mankind actually figures out what it is that this world actually revoles around, thousands of people are going to be shocked and perplexed that it was not them. Sometimes this includes me.

Well...it depends. In most places in America you still would. I don't know anything about British emissions standards so that might be true...but they don't mention it in that clip.

I know in Maine I think it has to be something like 20 years old and you no longer need to inspect it if you get an antique auto license plate.. but you can only drive it so many miles a year I believe.

since the car is so old and there were no standards for cars in the 60/70's there is nothing to measure it against.

It is standard that once the car is over 25 years you only have to get it safetied.

If you deam it a classic and get classic auto insurance which is generally very cheap (about $400/year in Canada) they expect you to bring it to shows and/or joy rides.

Since classic/vintage cars are so old most insurance companies realize a replacement value or repairing the car is out of the question. In our case here with a 62 super 7 the classic insurance does not have damages. There is a fixed buy out price should the car be stolen or written off.

AS for the amount of driving. Under this policy the number of miles is not regulated however the type of driving is. If you go shopping with the car it voids the policy.

Yea in idiana the car needs to be 25+ years old and then you get the classic insurance. I dont beleive they dont regulate anything here. They just make sure you install some kind of seat belt in it and your good.
