Help a Noob out!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1870547403

That thing looks good but what the hell are those 3 tubes for?

And can someone check the specs for me and tell me if this is a good deal. I want POUNDING bass...is this the one?

And what kind of AMPs do i need to power them.

Its a bandpass box, and those tubes are part of the design.

The 3 tubes are ports cause it's a bandpass application. I've never heard of the brand but it says that the box and all three subs can handle 900 watts rms total.

Whats the diff between a bandpass box and a box with bandpass? In other words, what does a bandpass box do.

Is 900 watt rms suppose to be good?

Bandpass is a type of enclosure...it's ported on one side of the speaker and sealed on the other. 900rms I think is enough. I ran 1500 rms through three 12" and it hit...hard. But I had a sealed enclosure. Bandpass are made for boomy types of bass like hip hop. So it really depends on what kinda music you listen to

Just cause the subs can handle 900 watts rms doesn't mean shit. You need to read between the lines. AudioBahn makes some really god shit but that's not it. these are their entry level subs in an enclosure to make an easy install. The setup is nice, and it'll sound good, but for $300 bucks i could sell you a 12" that'd handle 900 watts by itself and hit just as hard.

A sealed enclosure will offer deeper bass that'll be more direct and sound crisper, a bandpass enclosure is just for the boom, but if you listen closely at high volume levels the sound quality isn't nearly as good.

a well built ported box will sound equally as good as a sealed (louder and deeper too)

if you have the time to design a very good bandpass box then go for it. don't buy prefab bandpass box like the ones at best buy. anyone that has dealt with rmscaraudio.com will tell you that the single 10" in a bandpass has hit harder than many single 15" out there. not to mention the accuracy of their subs are like that of a sealed box

I think that if the subs are good subs, that if the box is ported or sealed won't matter...with deep sound, or boom....ts all bout the brand of speaker...speaker quality...

I have a bandpass box and it is LOUD, i love it and would recommend it, BUT they are big and take up alot of room. That is a nice setup also and i have heard good things about those speakers, my sis actually has them in her eclipse and she likes them says they hit the lows nicely.

Shaggin net..I think 900 watts rms is pretty good considering someone offered me 150 watts rms for $250. If U Offer me that 12" that can handle 900 rms by itself..does it comes in a box? Cuz I sure as hell dont want to buy another box to go with it.
