the type r's were made only in europe and i think your car won't be street legal over here, plus the accord type r has the h22a7 engine. might as well go for a h22a4

on a second thought you should keep your engine: makes the same power as the h22 plus you have about 45more ft-lbs of torque. the only thing that is messed up is the gearing in your tranny.

i tried reaching you but i see that you are not available on AIM so i will break it down for you here:

the Accord Type R (ATR) is available only in Europe, and they don't have the same emissions standars as we have here. Theirs are less restrictive. The ATR has a H22A7 engine, which is basically a prelude engine here. It makes the same power, as the prelude 195-200hp. Your engine makes the same power 198 hp, but you have a lot more torque than the prelude engine. The swap will be a lot harder and will cost more money because you will have to modify the engine bay a lot (motor mounts, intake on your car goes to the left while the prelude goes to the right). A 4 cylinder is a lot easier to do because there is no need to relocate mounts and stuff to have the engine fit. it will almost drop in. Now your car might seem slow but that is not because of the engine, that's because of the gearing ratios inside the transmission. Also there is no manual transmission for your car, unless you find a wrecked 6 speed acura 3.2CL Type S. I really don't know what to advise you, a prelude engine will be somewhat a downgrade from your current engine. The only draw back in your car is the transmission. if u have the money youmight have one custom done for your car, or ask honda if they will sell you one from a 3.2 CLS. if u have any further question ask me:

i'm not on AIM too much so you won't find me there. When i'm on AIM i'm saritus

Basically what hes saying is DONT touch ur engine..Leave it in there...its better then what u want or will get...its just ur tranny thats the problem....just find a better tranny with better gearing or whatever...
