Mono Amps

Here's what I am going to be doing. I am going to put a single 15 and I was told to get a Phoenix Gold 500 Watt Mono Amp. After talking to a few friends, they suggested going with MTX or JL. The guys installing the sub say Phoenix Gold.

Does anyone have any ideas on a good 500w Mono amp to buy? Is Phoenix Gold a good amp? What are some others you think I should go with. I am not too worried about the price. I am more worried about the quality and power. Any help you can give me would be great... Thanks in advance

What kind of 15" is this, make and model. I prefer a Rockford amp myself. If you haven't gotten the sub yet get a DVC 2-ohm. Then you can buy a 2 channel amp and run each channel of the DVC seperately. This will give you better power distribution, let's you use a 150x2 in place of a mono amp that's 500x1. A mono amp isn't always the petter choice.
