I tried dl'ing it back when this thread first started and I think it's on my comp somewhere, but after I dl'ed it and went through the setup, it seemed to disappear. I honestly wanted to do it...but haven't a clue where it went.

If you run the install that's in the first post, it should always run in the background until you manually kill the service. When you cntrl-alt-del do you see a Fah_core78 running?

well shiat... they're laying us all off, all those systems will most likely be taken down. If they reformat them then the clients will be removed. Otherwise until the systems are back online things aren't going to be running. I'm going to try and make sure they're on when I leave today. Still waiting to hear the actual word of what's happening.

I tried doing this last time but didn't work.
Everything was setup fine and dandy...but the program never did anything. It just sat there for a while, and after 45 mins to an hour i always got some sort of error and it shut my comp off...and ideas?

The program shut your computer down? Strange, never had that happen. But... This program is a good stability test for your system. If it errors out (you can look at FAHxlog.txt in your folding directory to see what happened), it means you're unstable, too hot, etc. If you post the error I can help you. Try scrapping whatever you have and download console v 5.02 from Stanford. When it asks you if you want to run as a service, say yes and you'll never see it again unless you look at the log. This version also fixed some problems.

Dude, that's pathetic. If you think it should die then stay the hell out of it. Should the thread really die because you can't understand the concept? Is your idle CPU time being used by something else valuable? Anyway, nobody's forcing you to "fold" so don't worry about it if I pop this thread back up now and then. When ShagginJet had the chance, he brought TONS of CPU power to folding and there's a chance someone else would want to help too.

Just added a AMD Athlon 64 3000+ HT, running duel client. Will be adding another identical in a month, and an athlon xp 2800 in a min or two...
?? - Is it quicker to run duel client at 1/2 cpu speed or single client at full? Does the HT feature of processor run both processes at full speed?

I have a 3200+ here and it doesn't have HT. I don't think any of the 64 bit AMD CPUs have it.... could you be mistaken? The HTT of the AMD64s is not the same as HT of the P4s... If not, let me know and I'll look into it. I run 1 client on my AMD64 @ 100% and it works just great. Did you go to Stanford and download the new client or did you use the links in this thread? There are new clients @ folding.stanford.edu. Thanks a lot for adding all of these CPUs! It all helps I'd like to see some other members jump on the bandwagon and add some power too!
