Overheating
My 92 Civic DX keeps overheating after 30min-1hr of driving time. It seems to start overheating more when I go up hills/at an incline, or am going over 65mph. Any ideas why it is doing this?

Have you checked to see if your coolant is low? Is the overflow tank filling itself when you notice the overheating? If so then it sounds like a bad head gasket.

The coolant is fine, but what is this overflow thingy that you speak of?

It is the small white plastic container just to the left of the radiator. It has a thin tube running from the cap on it to just under the radiator cap. Is it getting full and staying that way? Overflowing at all?

Dammit, it's so frustrating not knowing how to fix these problems.

Ok, I just checked it. It doesn't overflow, it just stays filled. Is that good or bad?

Well, I'm pretty sure if its staying filled, thats good (unless you have some sort of head leak or something I dont know)
You may want to opt for a radiator flush. They are kinda pricey (59.99 to 79.99) but well worth it. If you have the incorrect balance of water to antifreeze, your boiling point will be too low(or too high depending on the situation) and cause problems, especially in the winter. |

I don't know what's wrong! I've already flushed my radiator and, in fact, bought a whole new radiator when that didn't work.

Take it to a shop. Sounds like the thermostat is not opening or you have a leaky head gasket. Hell it may even be a bad temp sensor.
