head damage.. maybe more... not good

well heres the story....

i was trying to chirp 4th gear, cause i was squeeling 3rd with these stock accord ex rims on. i was doing 95-96ish, and i when to shift into 4th, and i missed and hit 2nd tires screemed for a second till i realized and i put the clutch back in. i have horrible power loss below 3-4000 rpms, and noise like im WAY overdue for a valve adjustment. the car sounds like its got some radical cams, but rides like ass. so i take it to honda right away, cause i knew something was horribly wrong. he said that the engine was over reved, which i knew, 9 bolts came off the valve adjusters, 6 were still in the head when the cover was removed. that left 3 to be MIA, now they said there a possibility they fell into the oil pan, whitch one of them did. that leaves 2 more, guess where they went.... DOWN. the head is coming off monday morning, hoping to find 16 strait valves, and undamaged pistons and cylender walls. right now, if the engine isnt broke, or the head isnt ****ed, im looking at 535 bucks. and i just sold my rims 3 days ago, so now im on stock accord ex rims, and im going to spend all my rim money on fixing my car. and to make things worse, he said it looked like my head might be cracked. he said theres a small chance but he will know for sure when the head comes off. i guess if its going to hell, im gonna get a head package. the head tech said im lucky my rocker arms arnt broke and that my car still made it over, because i could have easly blown the engine, threw all the rods, cracked the crank etc etc etc, much of the same effects if i hydro locked it, cause all the pistons would have stoped... well you get the idea.

yeah im almost more pissed off at my friends who drive automatics and are like, oh man you screwed up and missed a gear, blah blah blah, usualy followed by a hahaha, i mean c'mon, this is costing me so much money, how can u possibly laugh at it. all my friends who drive 5spd (or 6spd... those bastards) know shit happens, and they are just glad nothing like that ever happened to them with the bolts falling off, because they have all missshifted before.

man that really sucks. if the engine is messed up you might as well get a new h22.

I remember back in the day when i had my old subaru that i was shifting fom 5th abot 65-70 mph straight into the first (yes it was going into the first with no problem ) and still did not manage to kill the car at all. i got rid of it when it had 212kmiles after more than 60k of abuse in not even one year. I miss that boxy car. R.I.P

well, right now im waiting to see what they tell me, and i might upgrade the head. new cams valves valve springs and retainers, because im already paying for most the labor in removing the head, and springs and all that crap.

The Auto Tranny isn't exactly the best most reliant part either. I know they can break (especially on some NA cars!)
