first time racing vtec
so i pull up to this car after leaving applebees, its a black civic vtec, light is red, and i saw it before the light and was going to try to race him because i wanted to se how i held up against a vtec, but i looked over and he gave me a rev, an exhaust was all i saw he had, and i gave one back (a nice deep greddy growl). the light turns green and we both spin a little and caught at about the same time, he had me a little in first, then i grabbed second , im passing ,third i have about a half a car, then he just lets off and pulls into wallgreens. i didnt see if it was an si or whatever, but i was happy

Nice.
What year SE-R do you have? How could you tell he had VTEC though? Only the EX(SOHC) & Si(DOHC) have VTEC. Just wondering.

Nice kill
I have raced a Vtech prelude before, got him off the line by about 1/2 a car but once he got revving he started catching up in 2nd, but i pulled away in 3rd and fourth, won by about 3/4 a car-length. It was a good race, just a straight up stop light race up to about 85mph. The good old days....
Props on your 200sx-SER, ever raced a specV? Peace Nissan_shift |

SpecV
What's up? This is actually Nissanracer, I'm at my friend's house, anyway, you said you destroyed a spec with i/h/e. My car is momentarily stock, and i clowned that prelude pretty easily. I have raced two other preludes and beat them both. You must have a turbo or you have some tight mods in that prelude. Is it stock 190, or 200? Not sure about all the prelude specifications. Your lude is pretty clean though. What all do you have done to the engine? mods?

its a 94 vtec, 190hp h22a1 intake, headers, no cat, exaust, clutch, cam gears(untuned), vafc(untuned), fpr(untuned), msd 6a, blaster 2 coil, larger radiator, very short gear box, nice suspension setup and ive droped about 70 lbs(hood, crap in trunk, some sound deadening material, . last i checked the spec-5's run 16.0 1/4 mile time i run 15.0 stock. im not doubting you that you beat a prelude, and trust me, im the last guy on here who is gonna hate on nissans. what times are the spec-5's running? maybe i read a mis-print.

Stock, they run about 15.7, some specs have run high 14's that I know of. But personally I just got the news that NISMO parts are coming out for the SpecV and other nissans in spring 03, I am already dreaming of them, and saving my money, I want my car to be able to clown both a WRX and the other turbo cars that are coming out(neon srt-4, mazdaspeed protege etc.) i could do it with a hell of a lot of mods now or NOS but i think all motor is better. Hopefully Nismo comes out with a turbo for the spec, a boost tuneable one at that. I am excited as hell, hopefully Nismo does not let me down with some cheap ricer parts, I think not, but we'll see in 03.
