biggest motor swap in a accord yet!!!
This autotrader type rag is on QT's news rack. I saw this and quickly stuck it in their copy machine and then stuffed the copy up my sleeve so I wouldn't have to pay the 15 cents for it. That has to be the biggest engine ever to be stuffed under the hood of an Accord! Defiantly worth $3,800

They've been used...but not much. That new Cadillac concept has a V16, I believe. They were used quite a bit in the 20's and 30's in super-luxury cars like Stutzes and Doosenbergs.

To do what swap? A V16 into an Accord? No, I'm afraid it wouldn't be. Besides the fact that very VERY few V16s exist anymore, there's all sorts of logistical problems with that sort of swap. I think that's a V8 in the pics there...which wouldn't be too hard. But if you were gonna do all that work, why not just save yourself an assload of time and money and buy a RWD V8 to start with?

Once again man...I can almost gaurantee that's not a V16. First of all, even if you could find one, you'd have to pay through the nose for it. Secondly it wouldn't make much power as V16s were for the most part made obsolete decades and decades ago when luxury sports cars started using more V12s and V8s...which means the technology would be at least 50 or 60 years old unless they joined two V8 blocks and fabbed the whole thing which is incredibly unlikely. Lastly...look at the size. A V16 would extend well into the cabin the way it's sitting in that picture. Those are looooooooong motors. I'm not saying it couldn't possibly be done...but it would take a helluva lot more work than that guy's put into it.

it does go into the cabin. look at the interior. im not going to argue this. the pictures show it clearly. plus V16 can be made. machine shops can rebuilt old motors.

Actually Ferrari had OHC cam cars back in the 60s...maybe earlier. I'm sure it goes back to at least the 50s. One of my favorite cars of all time is a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4...a 3.3L DOHC 24V V12. But no...none of the old school V16s had OHC. The new Cadillac might. But that thing's weird. It runs on 8 cylinders all the time and at a certain throttle position the other 8 kick in making for 1000hp (the concept, at least) of Cadillac that we will never see.
