More Q's from D!

Anyways, back to my rims/tire questions.
Pardon my stupidity but I'm learning hehe.
Anyways, say if I want to get rims and tires used.
Like buy the whole set off someone who wants to get rid of his/her old ones. If the tires are already on the rims, meaning they fit fine, will they fit fine on my car. Right now I have 15's, so say I buy used 17's, can I just buy ANY used 17's with low profiles?

well not necesarily. you need to know what the stock size of the tire is ( not only 15") but also the width and aspect ratio of the tire. if u can get them for me i will be able to tell you what the size of the new tires should be.

Right, and make sure they're an acceptable offset, correct bolt patten/radius and an acceptable width for your car.

Ditto.

Don't forget about the lug pattern.

yup, but the sidewall will be like 2.5" it's better that way. it protects your rims and suspension better

you can even go with 215/45's or 205/40s but your speedo will be SLIGHTLY off, theres a site somewhere, that has a flash interactive thing where you put in stock tire size, and it shows you everything

i like bigger tires. they tend to close a bit of the gap between the wheel and the fender, plus as i said before having 215/45/17 will provide more cusion for the rims and a better ride comfort
