auto vs manual
Me and a buddy were having a dispute over which is better for drag racing.. he says manual.. I say auto..
What do you think and why?

depends on the type of racing. for bracket racing i'd use a auto, but manual dosnt loose as much power through te drivetran, and can put more emphisis on driver skill

For bracket racingI'd always use an auto. Sure, you loose a bit of power through the drivetrain, but you've also got torque multiplication with the converter and bracket racing is all about consistency. No chance for missed shifts and the like. AutoX/SCCA/NASA is all about a manual. It's hard to keep an auto exactly where you want it in the powerband for AutoX'ing.
