What trim is it?
Hi,
I just bought a 98 Integra on the insurance auto auction. Didn't see the car yet though - someone was bidding for me. Although my guy swears that this is GSR or TR, cause it has a VTECH engine in it. I'm still not so sure what trim that is!!! Can anyone tell what it is, just by looking at some lousy pictures? I can't. Here are the pics: http://briefcase.yahoo.com/kontener Notabene, that car was stolen, so i'm not so sure about the interior. Here's insurance company's info: VEHICLE DETAIL Stock Number: 01019333 Damage: THEFT / STRIP Year: 1998 Start: UNABLE TO TEST Make: ACURA Key: NO Model: INTEGRA GS- Odometer: 48,109 Cert. It's a GS-R. You can tell by the spoiler, among other things. I also don't think Type-Rs were available in that color.
Hope you got a deal on it- it isn't exactly in cherry condition. |

Yep, Gs-r. the rims, spoiler, and engine should always give that away. That car's looking pretty dirty, u have ur work cut out for ya, but good luck on it

Neither did I... If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it? How's the engine... or does it have one?

ok, you might laugh, but i paid for it 8900. I personally think that's at the high end, but still below the market value after i get done with it. Clear title of course.
Yes, it has engine cause it was one of the drivr-through cars - they put donoughts on it for the time of auction. I'll know the condition of the motor and body tomorrow. Untill, now I still have dilema if I want to keep my 2001 GS w/8000 on it, or try that GSR w/4800 miles. I'll let you know soon. btw. I've purchased many cars on similar auctions in the past, so I used to the gamble. And this car looks pretty OK to me so far. |

I always thought gsr's had leather interior! maybe a gsr though i know its a not a type R they dont come in supersonic blue pearl! thats the color of your car its either a gsr or gs. seems like a gsr though.

Also note the sunroof type r's didn't have those i also just remembered that some gsr's didn't have leather so iim like 98% sure you got a gsr.

in general, the rims tell the gsr and gs apart. In his case, if it has a vtec engine in it, then its gsr. Unless someone really fawked with that car and intentially got a gs, and put a gsr engine in there with a gsr spoiler and such, but thats not likely. |

the spiler dont mean a damn thing ppl....i had an RS and it had the exact same spoiler! its a factory option and a lot of ppl opted for it and therefore a lot of LS, RS and GS cars have that same spoiler. The badge on the back is either a DOHC VTEC badge or a Special Edition badge! Im guessing GSR tho

Wow, that's about double what I was thinking you might have payed. Since you've done this before though, I'm sure you know what you're doing. Best of luck getting it fixed up.

It is a GSR because of the DC2 in the VIN#. You could also punch in the VIN on CarFax and it will say GSR.

well, it might seem high to you guys, but when I looked the price of that car on edmunds.com i could still get 12k (private party) for it. No sweat. So, I'm still ahead in the game.
I'll post some pics when i get done |
