Tint Removal
Hi. I'm painting my car a color that's darker than my car is now. I think with the tints, it may look too dark. So, I'm debating removing them. Anyone have any idea as to how to get the tint off? Thanks, Melissa

Try and grab one lip of it and peel it off, then use something like goo gone or what not and let it soak on there and then scrape it off with a razor blade.. or pay someone 20 bucks to do it for you :P

I just called a local place and said, "Hi, I wondering how much it would be to take off my tints??" and the guy was like "WHAT??!!" Apparently, he thought that I said something else minus the n in that word.

LMAO Did he give you a straight answer after that? I think you can basically just peel it off.

I'm really scared to just peel them off. That don't look too peelable. They're only a year old.

Is this pro-grade tint, or ordinary store bought stuff??
For the stuff pros use, 1 year old tint should be an easy job. Just grab onto a corner and slowly peel it back while being careful not to tear it up too much......that'll just make it easier on you. I can't recall if spraying a little water helped or not.... I know one of the local tint shops here just uses a razor blade to scrape off any excess glue that is left. But DO NOT use a razor blade on the rear window as you will damage the defroster....and be very careful when removing the tint from the rear window for the same reason. If it's store bought....I dunno about those. b |

It's pro grade tint. I tried picking at it to see if it would peel. I don't think it wants to come off. I had a dream about all of this last night (seriously) and when I did it then, it just all came off. WTF?
