Well if that's the only reason then yeah...it's a bit high school-ish. I mean really...who the hell doesn't have a phone of some sort? Unless she lives in a refrigerator box, I'm calling bullshit.

I have an account, but I use it mostly to stay in contact with old friends I haven't seen in a long time. Some people, however, take it really seriously...which is just plain sad. Oh...and if you happen to be a pedophile, you just hit a goldmine.

I joined it back in like '04 because a couple of my online friends showed me it.. Didn't really pay attention to it for a while until I started meeting old friends on it.. It's a good way to keep in contact with people you might not see or talk to often but want to stay friends with. Then there are some kids that take it waaaaaaaay too far.

I have one, mainly because my job is completely worthless and I need something to occupy my time... my page is pretty plain though, just a picture and survey. I hate pages that have 3 different songs, videos, flash animation, scrolling text, bright flashing backgrounds, etc... drives me crazy.

Yea me too.. I have some pictures, a song and that's about it.. No need for a million fucking graphics plastered all over the page.. Just makes viewing that person's page a pain in the ass and I'll probably avoid to at all costs.

Myspace is the best way to meet girls, period! lol I still say they need to change the name to Mywhorespace.com lol

I love myspace, I meet all kinds of cool and "interesting" people on there. You get out what you put into it.

I'd personally stay away from these types of websites, IMO it attracts the exact people I dont want to meet.

before internet, it was the phone, before the phone it was mail and before mail it was in person.

I like to talkto people on the phone or in person. Internet bites for getting to know someone.

Rob, seriously man.. If you don't like it that's cool, but it makes it finding new people wayyyy easier. Even if it is just old friends. I can't count how many old friends from highschool that I've lost contact with and I now talk to because I've found them on myspace. Sure, you can talk to them on the phone. However, in order to call them you must first get thier number somehow. Ask for it over myspace, problem solved.

My logic is if you fell out of contact they couldnt' have been that good of a friend after all.

As for finding someone... 411.com

I think that's often true. But sometimes you fall out of contact with people you really didn't want to because of things beyond your control. For instance, I had to switch high schools pretty much right between middle school and high school (let's just say it wasn't by choice) and at that age it's really hard to maintain face to face relationships with people. So I ended up with a lot of friends I really cared about that I slowly lost touch with. I've managed to find at least one of them through myspace.

They might not have been that good friends but they were still people you enjoyed having class with and would have like to have a future friendship with.. There's a bunch of people I've found through myspace I haven't talked to since high school that I've now talked to again and hung out with, or talk to now because we're not in high school and there's no longer "oh shit you don't wear the cool clothes or play any sports"

yeah..i' drather make friends and maintin contact with all the friends i could possibly have..i hate seeing older adults that dont' have any friends anymore. for instance a chick in my class is really cool and she's 32 and depressed lately because her friendships are slowly slipping. i don't want that to happen ever. i've been through so much with my close group of 8 or so friends. firsts for lots of stuff and they'll always be there for me and visa versa. i'm not willing to just let the friendship fade..

just my $0.43

EDIT: 4 new numbers

just thought I would add my $.02 in here

I use myspace mainly for networking....it is a great way to get buisness!

There are a few friends I keep in contact with as well. Someone already said it, but we spend so much time on the internet these days. It is much easier to drop a note on a place like myspace, due to the amount of time spent on the net.

peace

Most Filipinos uses friendster. I have it just to stay in touch with my high school friends. 80% are my batchmates.... you'll notice the age similarities

Man I missed the bus on myspace.... I"m 29 now so I'd feel like a pedophile setting up a site...

also at least for the moment I"m married so I'm not really looking for a puss surfing site.

It's funny though... some girl just contacted my friend through his myspace account randomly after seeing him in the real world.... apparently it worked out pretty good. lol.

I'm 27 and I use it daily.. I just don't talk to younger people, it's easy. There are plenty of people on there my age that I chat with some older, some younger.
