Gas levels & stuff

Ok, my cars gas levels..change. Sometimes when I'm driving it will be on E, and then I'll look up a while later and it's like half way between the E and half full. What the ****? I never know if I'm about to really run out or what because it changes all the time. And no, it's not the obvious - ie. me putting more gas in it or anything like that.

And when it's close to being on empty.. my car acts like it has problems starting. So... what the hell is happenin?

Your gas gauge is probably faulty. My gfs mirage does that and she had to get it replaced.

^yeah the guage might be faulty or your tank floater could be too...if I were you, Id find a friend or someone you know who has a civic and take their cluster and put it into yours and see if the gauge reads it right or not (then you would know if its the gauge or something else)

what kind of problems happen when your getting low? starting? if thats it, then thats normal.

i think it's more of a floatie issue. sometimes they get stuck and takes some bumps to have them go back to normal. i ran out og gas and my needle was on half, but i never had any problems since.

Mine does it too but only when i am punching it around for awhile, or hitting vtec. It only really does it down near 1/4 or less.

I had the same issue with my old Civic. I learned to live with it and the only time I knew I needed gas was when the gas light came on...

Do the 92-95's even have a gas warning light? Cause I've never seen one come on.

My light has never came on but I have ran out of gas before, even though it was way above the empty line.

A floatie issue, aye. Can I just get someone to push my car or somethin' heh

Yes, it's flat ground when it happens. I don't live around hills anyway.
