1 Tooth Off...

So I posted in the civic section but I figured I'd put it here to for those who don't look over there...

G'dam honda of greenwich (ct) did my timing belt after I first got the car... I didn't have access to a shop at the time and didn't wan't to deal with it...

WELL.... those R-tards set it WRONG... the cam was advanced a tooth... Car runs a MILLION times better... I still have to set the timing... but it runs pretty sick now...

I used to have NO power after up shifting... now it's got pretty decent umph... I'm actually both not-suprised... cuz I always said there was something wrong with my car and even guessed at that but didn't take it seriously as I figured with it being an interference motor it would've cause some slap... BUT I'm also VERY suprized.. my car ran pretty good as it was... I mean my buddies cars are all faster than mine but they all have much better cars... now I wonder... gotta follow one friend of mine home like we normally do and see the difference...

Now I wish I had dynoed it or run at the track or something...

Oh well..

funny thing is my boss bought a USEd civic off our lot, had always been maintained there, customer said the thing just started losing power after he had his T-belt done(at our dealer) so my boss grabbed the car and it turned out the butch that worked first shift had put the belt on 1 tooth retarded....want to talk about a civic with no top end

i always laugh but the cars seriously run better with a fresh T-belt on them, it's like a revitalization

Yeah i think the timing is retarted on my integra and on my maxima. The maxima is fine for now but the teg has lost some major power since i have bought it. I might have that checked out before i sell it.

Update.

I bumped the timing back to a more normal position and the car RIPS... it runs SOOOOO good I can't believe it. I thought it was a decently fast civic before... I've never lost a race to another civic... Or any other import for that matter... I didn't trail my buddy in his 70 impala TOO bad and his runs LOW 14's...

I can't wait to follow him home... He'll still beat me and all but it won't be as embarassing.

And as far as the T belt is concerned (as well as the tensioner and water pump)... They ALL looked fine and I went WAY WAY too long on them... the last time I had it done was the same time as my other belts and they were SHOT... but the T belt and other parts had NO wear indicators AT ALL...

I'm glad I got it done and all but I was expecting more wear on the belt at least.

Got just a few maintanance things left to take care of but over all it's coming together... I may actually buy fenders.
