need advice about my job
OK my job is really stressing me out and im seriously debating just quiting and getting an easier one. The problem is that I make some serious cash with the one that I am at right now. Plus the fact that I have been there almost 2 years is not making my decision any easier. Ok heres what I do. I work for a spring water company and I am a delivery driver. I deliver to downtown Harrisburg to all the state office buildings. I have to drive to Harrisburg everyday whichis like a 45 minute drive and carry these 5 gallon bottles up to these inconciderate state employees (if you have ever met anyone that is employed by the state of Pennsylvania you would agree they are morons). Thats all i do and I make 50K a year. Is it worth all the hassle or should I just tell them to F off. Opinions

Damn... 50K for that.. Dude good luck finding another job making that much with a job like that.. Just ignore them man... The way things are going these days, if you have a stable job you better keep it..
If you really want to get out start looking around see whats out there but I doubt youll find anything close to that.. Good luck..

yeah I have been looking for a while but there is nothing that pays anything close to that. Im considering jsut going on a man hunt and killing Bin Laden. There has to be some kind of bounty on his head. That may hold me over a while and I could releive my anger and it will be perfectly acceptable.

On a short term point of view, its better to keep this job.
But on the longer run, I think you should consider finding another job that you'll be able ot do for a long long time. I mean Carying those things is probably a b!tch.. Doing it regularly may F up your back, spine, cervical discs or whatever else. You're proabably still young, so you might wanna take a risk now, and "secure" your futur. ::

Yeah thats an idea. I have to do something. Some days im a real asshole to be around because im so pissed off inside. Ill yell at my friends for no reasons and stupid things like that. They understand im stressed but they shouldnt have to take the abuse.

Dont feel bad your not the only one to have those days, thats what sucks about getting older.. Back in the day everything was cool, and didnt even know what stress was.. But anymore.. I snap in a heartbeat.. It sucks really.. Best thing to do is try to find something to channel your aggressiveness to something else before someone else..

I believe its $5 million. Seriously though, you make $50k/year, which is good. I'd keep the job for now and look for another one in the mean time. Maybe you'll get lucky and find something else that makes more doing less. When you get older, you won't want this job probably, so better to find a good one now.

i know exactly what u mean boosted. with everything that's going on right now (lay-offs), u should keep that job for the time being. save up some money, that way, you'll have money while in transition to a different job......if u ever quit.....
shiet bro, you're making more money than me, and i've been in the NAVY for 10 yrs! .....take it easy boost.... |

Stressed? Damn man. I too make $50,000 a year. However, in my job 1 typo can cost the company between $10,000 and $150,000 in fines from the FAA. I have over 500 airplanes that I have to track over 300 maintenance items on daily. That can become stressful.
Now while I sit on my ever growing ass, you bust your ass carrying them heavy ass water bottles. While mine is sever mental stress, it sounds like yours is physical stress that leads to exhaustion, which in turn leads to mental stress. If you think you can handle that, I would say stick with it. Do not leave until you find something that is comprable in pay. Once you get used to making decent money like we do, it is hard to make less. |
