Newbie needs CAI & other mod advice on 95 Civic
Hello everyone. I am obviously new here. Although I've had my 95 Civic for 8 years, I just decided ummm, yesterday to start modding it ( slightly) I wanted to get some advice on adding some power. Thing is, I plan on selling it within a year, so the mods are to be as *cheap* as possible. i just got that go faster itch too late (in this car). So here's the deal:
1995 Civic EX 1.6L 110,000 miles Auto tranny NO MODS I was thinking about an intake first, maybe the exhaust next. But I think the intake takes priority. So, having no Honda experience (mod wise, and produst wise) what is a fairly good intake for fairly cheap? This is purely for spirited driving around town, no racing. Are intakes like APC that Pep Boys sells just garbage?Again, I don't want to put an AEM priced piece in there. So any help, any suggestions, much appreciated. Thanks! |

hey well looks like i get to respond to this one too (yes still bored) lol
Welcome to the board...you'll find all sorts of good info. Now, 1st rule to modding your car: Dont buy APC...EVER If youre lookin for a cheap-o intake, the CAI (Cold Air Intake) that are on Ebay are supposed to be quite decent (lots of people have em) and theyre only $35 i believe. |

Pdiggity,
Thanks again man! You're all over! I'll check out Ebay... I assumed for years APC was garbage, but just wanted to confirm. Oh, and I ended up masking and spraying the side trim instead of dissasembling everything. Worked perfect. Thanks again. |

Well since I've got you here, which of these (or any others) I found on ebay have a good rep?
AND... are all of these intake's filters cleanable, like w/ the K&N recharge kit? Just want to make sure I get something I can use for more than 6 months! Here are the links to 3 different intakes: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=2415917 663 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=24157954 62 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=2415430 155 |

Looks like I'm going to be getting a used AEM short ram. Is it advisable to get a heatshield? If so, where can I get one... or how easy is it to make my own?

For some reason the site's not working for me right now, hopefully you can get to it or maybe they'll fix it soon.
