Offset
can somebody explain the offset of a wheel for me please ? What will be the recomended offset for my 92 accord ? is 42 good or 40 is like the maximum i can go ?

off set is where the wheel actually mounts to the car.
if the mount is in the center of the wheel it has zero offset. if the mount is on the outside (or close to the outside of the tire) then that is positive offset. if the mount is no the inside (or close to the brakes, etc.) then that is negative offset. i think the measurements are the millimeters from the exact center. such as +40 offset is a positive (towards the outside) 40 millimeters from the center of the wheel. hope that helps. i don't understand it fully but thats what i make of it. chris. |

also... most wheels mount with positive offset (outside of the wheel) so everything lines up nicely to where theres not a big valley in the middle of the wheel.
