Car chugs and bogs when pedal is floored?

I have a 92 civic hb witha zc in it. It use to start up fine and will idle normally, but as soon as I rev it up it bogs down and seems like it has no power at all. Then when I put it in first it really bogs down when the clutch is around half way out? Could anyone tell me what this is? Also I went to start it up today and the battery was getting weaker every time i tried to turn it over. By the third time it was basically dead. Could this have something to do with the loss of power?
