Head Unit died... Need a replacement..
Well my head unit died. I was on my way back to rok when the face just went blank. I removed the faceplate and put it back on. Then it died completely. Kinda sux since the unit was about $700. Its a Pioneer Premier DEH-P900R by the way. But anyhow.
I need a new head unit. What do you guys recommend? I won't be putting any subs in the car. I don't know what my budget is. I like to get quality though. I considered the Pioneer DVD player, but then again people seem to be having issues with Pioneer stuff. I want something that will last. This one almost lasted 2 years.

I strongly suggest Alpine.
My whole team runs Alpine HU's. Never had one fail yet. Oh they, compete.. Not that expensive, and durable. If you are building a pure SQ system then go with Nak.. but a little pricey though.

Yeah Alpine does make some quality units.
My head unit is working now. I'm not real sure what the heck happened to it. The wires are all snug and the facplate fits tight. I still want to get it replaced. I hate driving with no music...

So is Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony (mobile), Blaupunkt, Eclipse. But Alpine and Eclipse are still king. Sorry, just had to mention that!

Eclipse is defintely nice, but why no detachable faces? That ESN is only good for so long.....
Other than that issue, I would rank their units up there on the top. I just have to wait on Alpine's slow ass to release the new units so I can compare......

Naks are the best of you are going for a pure SQ system..
If not it isnt a good investment.
