Look, there were only 3 versions of the Nissan 240SX released in the United States. It was introduced in the 87/88 model year. From 87/88 all the way up to 94, they had flip lights. Nissan changed the engine in 1991, but that was all they changed, so not really a NEW gen or anything. Then they changed the body quite a bit in 95, putting in fixed headlights. The car stayed that way until it stopped production in 97/98. If you raced a 240SX without flip-up headlights, then it was 95-98 version, otherwise it wasn't a 240SX.

Did you ever think that someone might have spent the money on a front end conversion? I have seen tons of first gen 240's with Sylvia front ends installed. It's the hot thing for 240 owners. And it's pretty inexpensive and great looking mod.
