After that programmers created the Divx codec to sort of mock Blockbuster's failure. Maybe they're back at trying something like that. That being said, I've always found portable units to have much flimsier firmware and are thus less reliable at non-commercial disc playback. Not always the case, but usually it is. But hey...if it works in your home player more power to ya. Some players are just picky about what they'll play and when.
