Of course I would.
I was hit with a belt on several occasions and I turned out fine (ok, mostly fine).
Bottom line is kids clearly see that if a time out is the only punishment, theyre going to push their limits, because "oh no, I have to sit quietly/in my room with all my cool shit". A beating is justified in MANY cases
