Aggressive mode saves some CPU power by basically blanketing IP ranges to block rather than singling out specific addresses to block. For instance, if a hypothetical bad IP range was 00.000.00.000 - 10.000.00.000 and you stumble across 00.500.00.000 instead of trying to track down the specific point of origin, it just blocks it and lists it as being a bad IP range. I always run it in aggressive just because I run it all the time and don't want it sucking up processing power.
