I did the same thing last year. I was sent up to compete amongst the best out of 63 First Class Petty Officers in my command. We had to stand in front of higher ranking enlisted and was asked thoughts about political and military issues. I ended up winning and made Sailor of the Year in my command. I felt like shit afterwards tho. Cuz I was asked how the morale is in the command. I told them I look forward to working everyday on my car..... wow!
