you could try running msconfig, and disable as much stuff as you can in the startup section, especially mcafee. It's a long shot, but it may work.
click start, then run. in the field, just typ e"msconfig". you want the last tab that says "startup". Uncheck as much stuff as possible, but I would start with all the mcafee entries. apply, and reboot.
