I have driven two cars with cold air intakes in the past 3 years in very rainy climates with no problems. I have lived in Louisiana and the UK during these times. I will say it again as I have said it b4. Anyone who blows their engine from sucking up water is a freakin moron! U can tell your friend i said so.
As far as to answer the question for which this post was intended for. Well the new V2 CAI I would say should make more power. It uses "resonating frequency" to "supercharge" the cylinders with the air/fuel charge at certain RPM's. Obviously this effect creates more power than other comparable cold air intakes. This has been gone over b4. Might want to search.
