Our prices here in Canada are up from 55c/L to 90c/L which is a larger jump then 10c on a gallon of gas even when you take into consideration the exchange. I do feel for you, we're in for alot worse this summer.

Though most of us drive relatively good cars when it comes to gas milage, thats because honda has taken a responsible stance on MPG. But when you look at how far people drive to work, the size of their motors and so on. You notice people live further from work to support larger homes. This cycle of driving an hour to work is what keeps the oil companies in control of prices. If for a moment people started to live closer to work, car pool or use other means to get to work. You'd see the price of oil drop because consumption would be on the decline.

Everytime I see a 'light truck' drive by I shutter. Now if you think this is bad wait until china comes out of third world status and the demand for oil doesnt doublt or trip but more then 10times the daily amount of oil will need to be produced to meet the worlds needs.

If it gets any worse it will be almost as bad as the engery shortage of the 70's where people drove smaller cars. Maybe now we'll finally see more bio diesel and hydro cars.
