Turbo D's will take out the average Bseries motor'd car (stock) along with lots of other things.

I don't think it will matter whether you get a B18 b,c,l,m,n,o,p or whatever.. save your money and get a new base to start with.. by new base I mean new car. And when I say new I mean new to you not new to the world. Figure out what you can get money wise for your car, add that to your $2000 and buy something else.
I saw a nice 1968 RS camaro for about $8000. White with blue stripes.. looked very nice.. new paint.. almost new interior. Had a NNM 327 in it too.
