the 1.8t vw's are not something to snicker at. depending on what year it was, it was likely about 150hp. with the chip, i think it would be close to 180, and the i/e would bring it up near 200. i raced one from a 35mph roll and slowly walked away after downshifting into 3rd (i wanted to see what he could do).
200hp in a 2800lb car is a pretty good combo.
btw, stock for stock, almost any turbo dsm will beat a 302 mustang (assuming a good driver).
civickid, ask your friend why he would waste his money on a chip for his dsm. i'm assuming it was a 2g (95-99)? with the exhaust he's probably pushing about 225hp
